Well I really must respond to the owners comment. First I have been in the licensed trade for many years and the licensing law clearly states that all licencees must act responsibly. You state that our "drunken and abusive" behaviour got us barred. `well you were the only pub we visited on the night in question so if we were that drunk and abusive it was you and your staff that got us into that state by continuing to serve us, you should have refused to serve us on that night but you didnt, you kept taking and taking the money. Is this a sensible landlord, no I dont think so. I cannot in any way believe that we were in any form abusive the words you state we said are not in our vocabulary and that would be no matter how drunk we were. The ridiculous way in which you respond to both our Bucksboy 1990 and our comment shows what little regard you have for your customers, and this was also made perfectly clear by the way you walked around the pub clearly showing contempt for the customers that were there. We have been back to Ivinghoe on many occasions and there are a couple of lovely pubs there and a wonderful restaurant, thankfully we dont have to lower ourselves to come into the Rose and Crown. We are happy to keep away.

Well lets look at the positives first, foods not to bad although the main man who cooks needs to learn some manners, and the barman while a bit moody sometimes is actually a very nice guy so bear in mind first impressions can be decieving. . My mate and I visited on 24th July 2010, not our first time there, ordered our drinks and sat out side the rear of the pub. The man who cooks I believe is the owner or manager came out and came over to us accusing us of calling him a (very rude) name. This was totally untrue and it is certainly not my style to use that kind of language. This was a real case of mistaken identity, but there was no talking to this guy he is totally insane, stressed or bonkers. We left and went to another pub where we explained what had happened , it appears that this guy is renowned for being offensive, so be warned should you go there. I would recommend the food it is actually quite nice, bar surroundings nice and the barman friendly once you get to know him. The owner really needs to learn some manners though. We stayed at the Town Farm camping site to be highly recommended, he recommends people to the pub so we have explained to him our experience. I am trying to be positive about the place but am finding it hard.
