The Chequers, Potters Bar

This pub is the worst in Potters Bar, the toilets are putrid and are ever clean, its disgusting. There is no dishwasher for the glasses, they are washed in a dirty sink by hand. There is dog hair everywhere, as a big alsation which is not very friendly strolls around behind the bar and in the kitchen, not very health & safety! I would not recommend this pub to anyone, the landlady didn't seem too bad, but the landlord is extremely rude. The food is not too bad, but from the cleaniness of the place you wouldn't want to think what state the kitchen is in. The only redeeming feature would be the garden for children, although the toys there are very shabby and alot are broken. I would suggest another 2 minutes up the road to Old Owens, or The Two Brewers, much more hygenic, friendlier and hospitable.
