The Thames Court, Shepperton

Was a great Friday/Saturday night location in years gone by. Unfortunately has fallen victim to the trend of turning good pubs into quasi-restaurants.

Food was good, and nothing wrong with the service. But I yearn for the days of sitting out by the river on a warm summers night with 100 or so others, getting slowly but surely ratted before staggering home down a dark road where I was sure to put my foot in either a lump of something or the world's deepest puddle.

Ah.... the good old days.

The Barley Mow, Shepperton

Good real ale pub with decent live music (no karaoke box + 1 guitar bands). Old fashioned landlord who treats his beer and his customers in a top class fashion. Only downside is poor ventilation.
