The Buffet Bar, Stalybridge

Can I make a couple of comments here. Visited last night and I disagree with MrBean that this place is boring...far from it. A fight almost broke out before the quiz between a regular and an irratating whimp who was too coward to go outside. I was told he was an out of work ex-radio presenter with a big gob, some people never learn, idiot! Anyway agree that the beer is great. People didn't seem too scruffy, it looked like maybe one or two made the effort (two I think) and the staff were very friendly and smart.
Definately great place worth a visit.

The Cheshire Ring, Hyde

very sensible pub, bit like me. not visited for a week but beartown beer definately on top form. Love the 'NO SWEARING' policy, the nearly silent music and and quiet quizzes. You won't find any drunks, workers or half naked women in here, therefore the 'Best Pub in Town' as well as the most ****** borin'. I like this pub. If the missus or boss phones me on the mobile to see where I am it's so quiet they'd never guess I was in a pub.

Worth travelling to visit... I travel all over.. All over Hyde

Cotton Bale, Hyde

this pub is ok to nip into on a Thurs night if you get to The Bike 'n' Hound too early from the Sportsman . You wouldn't want a drink in the Bike just some nuts or crisps, take your time ordering. Then move on to the Cheshire Ring for a pint.....Maybe pop back into the Bike on the way back for some more crisps.. that's on the way back to the Sportsman for last orders...it's quite late now.... This pub, the Cotton Bale, is well positioned in the middle, just in case there's any hic-cups.
