The Tide End Cottage, Teddington
Now reopened after renovation. Still a pleasant place, but has lost a lot of its charm. Regulars will notice a few token artefacts retained from the old pub. Much busier than before. Larger menu, nice deck area at the back. Staff struggling a bit with the much longer bar. Judgement reserved until all have had time to settle in. Still better value (both food and drink) than most Teddington pubs.

The Tide End Cottage, Teddington
Been using the Tide End regularly for many years. Still one of the friendliest and most authentic pubs in Teddington, reasonably priced (by today's standards), well-kept beer, pleasant staff, and not ruined by a brewery's "vision" of what a modern pub should be.

The Lion, Teddington
Had't been since change of landlord earlier this year; used to go regularly for the live bands on Saturday evenings, and sorry to see no sign that that continues. Worse, they now play some pretty awful, and unnecessary, muzak. This alone can be enough to drive me out of a pub, and knocks one point off my rating. On the positive side: the food is still excellent, the staff friendly, quick and competent, and there's a good range of well-kept beer.
