The Sir Roger Titchbourne, Alfold Bars

To me this pub knows what its doing, its location doesn't give it a big catchment area of locals so it brings in punters from a wider area by providing excelent food and interesting beers. The beers are always well kept and change regularly, the variety is such that you need a nominated driver to do justice to them, Tillingbourne and Dark Star feature regularly - low 'beer' miles is always a bonus.
The food is always excellent and in the restuarant always attentively served, although slightly more than the equivalent in Pubco eateries the quality makes the extra well worth paying. Tables are booked at staggered times which ensures you are waited on promptly which is a nice touch

The Snowdrop, Lewes

I use this pub whenever I go to Lewes, which isn't often enough. There is always an excellent choice of well kept beers on tap with Sussex brewers well represented. The menu is original and always inviting and the food is well cooked with honesty and care. Although out of the centre of Lewes I would recommend the effort which will be well rewarded and a great improvement over some of the tired establishments closer in.

The Bedford, Horsham

Visited a couple of weeks ago. One bar reserved for a private party as was a large table in the main bar. Only one draught bitter on tap. Two different football games with really load commentaries and customers who seemed very indifferent to the opportunity to watch said entertainment. Landlord totally infexible about volume on commentary so we quaffed our pints and went to the Black Jug for an altogether more enjoyable evening.
