The Carnival Inn, Bridgwater

Think this is really a young persons pub - however, it is a pleasant place to sit and have a coffee or a quick lunch time snack when it is raining. I actually quite like how the inside is arranged and that is despite this not being somewhere I would usually go to.

The George Inn, Middlezoy

Looked ok from the outside - inside did not 'feel' very friendly. Did not enjoy what was an uninspiring ploughmans. Sorry but could not recommend this pub - unless you were driving that way anyway and felt very very thirsty! Shame as its setting makes it ideal to be a traditional/friendly/village pub.

The Halfway Inn, Dunwear

Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday sunday lunch at this welcoming pub, a really spot on carvery meal, best one I've had for a while and only priced at �6.50. Superb. The pub was packed and the landlady told me they normally do a minimum of 80 sunday lunches, so bookings are a must if you intend to visit. Was a real bonus to find they had lit the log fire as it was another wet and dull summers day! This is my second visit to this pub in one week - the first time I did not stop long as they were right in middle of changing brewery (updating pumps plus putting in new beers/real ales/local ciders etc.) On this visit we had a great time and having checked out their regular menu will definitely be back during the week.
