Windmill Inn, Weald

This pub has recently appeared on the radar of local ale drinkers, along with cider and lager lovers. I have visited several times over the last couple of months, either walking from Hildenborough, or catching the bus from Tonbridge. Great selection of local beers and ciders, along with some proper continental lager, Hepworth Conqueror was on offer for those that like something a bit darker. I can also recommend the food, large and small appetites are catered for.

The Ship Inn Hotel, Porlock

Very very good ale pub, great selection of interesting beer, all that I tried were well kept.

Visited on a rainy Friday in June and really enjoyed sitting there chatting to the locals, and drinking a few pints of beer. Was glad to find a pint of Exmoor Beast after spending the earlier part of the week drinking more spring and summer inspired ale. Pub is very traditional looking and large, stone floors in bar so should be a good pleace to stop if youve got a bit soggy while out walking, or have a wet dog.

The Star Inn, Watchet

Very good and friendly pub, worth visiting for drink and food.
3 or 4 ales and 3 ciders available when I visited, also worth seeing what bottles they have tucked away if nothing takes your fancy. I had several sessions over a week and the ales was spot on every time, mostly from local brewers as well. Only thing I would like changed is to mix the styles a bit, having said that when the Cotleigh Golden Seahawk arrived I stuck with that for the evening.

Food was also very good, especially the duck as a Sunday roast. Luckilly i was aware of the opening times so managed to get a table. Worth booking if you want to eat at weekends.
