Globe Inn, Rye

Been in here a couple of times now, a bit soulless, beer choice limited (just British Bulldog on when last I visited) but at least it's a local brewery. Very friendly staff - even gave us a couple fo T-bones to take away for the dog - just the bones sadly! For what it's worth the food was very tasty

The Queens Head, Rye

Pleasant pub, interesting beers and those running it deserve a lot of credit for turning this place around. Well worth a visit

The Standard Inn, Rye

Recently moved to Rye and this has become the main pub of choice for a few drinks. Friendly locals and bar staff, Slightly shambolic in an amusing way - wine list consists of two - red or white! Food is reasonable pub food (not that it matters overly, this is after all BEER in the evening). If you're looking for sophisticated drinks on your weekend away from London then forget it but if you want a beer in pleasant surroundings then I would recommend it - My wife and dog also highly recommend their open fire!
