Bartok, Chalk Farm

Returned here recently after not having visited for ages. This place has really taken a turn for the worse. Practically empty on a Friday night, which is saying something for a Camden boozer. Bland generic music(Black Eyed Peas, ffs!), even more overpriced than before and the classic surly bouncers needlessly hassling people at the door. I can only assume whatever trade they do get is from punters leaving the Roundhouse.
Word of warning: absolutely freezing in there. We sat with coats on until we left. And the bouncers tried to get 5 off a friend who arrived later, despite the fact that there was a total of two tables occupied inside.
A thoroughly charmless establishment, I won't be back.

Pommelers Rest, Tower Bridge

Unusual establishment with an extensive range of Cheap beverages.Clientele seems to consist primarily of shabby local office workers. On the evening I visited,I was surprised to note some form of impromptu pub quiz in session, presided over by an increasingly loud and inebriated Welshman.
Bar staff overwhelmingly friendly. In fact, they appear to be on a first name basis with most of the punters.
