Profile information

I was stationed in the U.K. with the American Air Force on two tours, the first was from 1974 to 1977 at R.A.F. Sculthorpe, Norfolk, and the second time from 1980 to 1984 at the twin bases of R.A.F. Bentwaters/Woodbridge, Suffolk. I truly enjoyed my time at both places and have many fond memories of the people and friends that I made while there, in my heart i consider England my second home. I have wish to return someday and revisit all of the pubs and locate old friends, that is if they are still around. In the '70's I spent alot of my free time at the Harlequin pub located in Hunstanton, and in the '80's it was the Coopers Dip in Saxmundham. There are a few of us old G.I.'s that were stationed together that stay in touch and most of our conversations are about the good times we had in England and some of the adventures we got ourselfs into. If you remember the redheaded "blank" (not a bloke and not a yank) email me and let me know how things are going, for that matter if you don't remember me you can email me also!

I was unaware that the pub had closed! Am very happy to hear that is is back in business and wish the very best to the new landlord/lady. Cheers to all!

The Coopers Dip, Saxmundham

The Coopers Dip was my local when I was stationed in the UK in the '80's. Always a friendly face whenever I entered and it's quaint atmosphere was always relaxing. I hope to return again someday just to visit with old friends and have a "half" of bitter and a dram of bell's.
