The Royal Oak, Higher Kinnerton

A charming pub on the border between Wales and England. Old bar with real fire, usually 4 ales - Speckled Hen, Tim Taylors etc. Food is very good and can be eaten in the bar or dining room. Staff and landlord always pleasant

The Cross Keys Inn, Chester

We are recent converts to this pub and we like it as it's quite close to home. Ale is fine esp the Deuchars - city prices of course. Haven't eaten there though. Usually fairly quiet early evening.
