The George, Wanstead

Fan of the George - like most Wetherspoons what you see is what you get. However, popped in the other Friday about 6.30 and found there to be a queue at the bar already. 3 staff had called in sick by all accounts. Why does the place continually suffer with lack of reliable staff and indeed enough staff? Apart from staffing issues, its a solid pub. Great value beers and food, and enough room to not be bumping into people all night. Wish they'd remove those big screens that have the sound off though - they don't really serve much of a purpose.
