The Frog and Nightingale, Chester

Day visitor to Chester. Food generous & good quality and at very reasonable price during day. Pub lacks atmosphere and very dull interior during day time may be better in evening when lighting switched on. Seems to concentrate on evening clientell ( if that's how you spell it)pity as its location & food could boost the pub during day if atmosphere better

The Pear Tree, Penwortham

Very Popular Pub/Restaraunt. Visited on a Tues tea time & was quite busy. Family run, very very polite staff, nothing to much trouble for them. Meals competativly priced ( I had Gammon - the best i've tasted) portions generous. Will go again

The Clog and Billycock, Blackburn

Visited on a Bank Holiday. Welcome by landlady, she was pleasent. Ordered drinks. Returned to bar to order sandwiches. Served by LANDLORD not well mannered..very abrupt gave impression everything was to much trouble. Asked what sandwiches available ( these are made on the spot and fresh)After much thinking the reply was "Only Cheese" no wonder the pub was empty
