The Wooden Bridge, Guildford
The Wooden Bridge. OK. Well, the backbone of the townie Guildford community (yes, I am talking Bellfields and Stoughton!), this pub has reinvented itself more times than Madonna. You go there more because it's close, you know it and because it just seems to be the easiest place to meet up before going on somewhere else (you never actually do though)than for the beer or the atmosphere. I am (sadly) no longer living in the vicinity , but I hear that these days it has been revamped. Yeah, yeah, it will still always just be the Bridge.
It gets a seven as for sheer staying power and the bizarre ability it has to draw you in and keep you going there for decades.
