I wasn't born in the Griffin Hotel, but I wish I was. I would have my wedding reception here, if I believed in marriage!
We worked out that the beer is so cheap it's more economical to spend your evenings here than heat your own house.
That, and they have salt and vinegar frisps.
What a wonderful pub.

The Griffin Hotel, Heaton Mersey
They've given the old girl a new lease of life. Food is now very much being promoted but not at the expense of it being a proper pub. The wood panelling and the original features have been retained but cleaned up. The school kids are now no longer welcome and there is even a wine menu (which the staff seem unsure of!).
Few more pence on the beer but still a fantastic value boozer which oozes character.
