The Stapleton Tavern, Finsbury Park

Really good Sunday roasts at very reasonable prices, open and airy. Good selection of ales. They have a screens area for football, but are large enough that you can get away from the sport if you aren't in the mood. There are a few bad reviews here, but it sounds like the place has changed for the better.

The Worlds End, Camden

Huge place, but music too loud to have a proper conversation anywhere. Very limited ale choice. Fake "alternative for tourists" vibe. Staff moody, but I'd be the same if I worked there.
