Sitting in the beer garden (back yard) on a warm summer evening, drinking a vinegary pint of John Smith's Cask (the only ale they have on tap) and being overwhelmed by the ammonia stench from the outside loo, I couldn't wait to leave. Do yourself a favour and go up the road to The Swan instead.

The Coach, Greenwich

My wife and I have developed a habit of meeting up here after work on a Friday evening and it's become our favourite local pub. The staff are always friendly and, despite its location, it never seems to get too busy.

We're moving away from Greenwich in a few weeks and both of us will definitely miss our visits to the Coach & Horses.

At the time of writing, a (very tasty) pint of Oranjeboom is �3.10 and a soft drink is �1.50.
