The Head of Steam, Newcastle

Always thought this bar lacked any atmosphere. Simply a place to go for a pint - one pint - then leave.

Actually, I don't even have one pint there now, there's better bars close by.

Trillians Rock Bar, Newcastle

As has been said in an earlier post, there's been too many changes. Once a true rock bar, it's now looking more like a city centre theme pub with every new makeover. Beer quality is variable (and they stopped selling Caffreys too - a bitter blow!). Okay for watching live bands though, if that's your thing. I preferred the place when it was 'The Jubilee', back in the late 70's.

...I'd also like a pound for every time I've ordered food and been told 'that's off the menu today'.

Okay for the odd pint if passing but that's about it.

Dull bar. Absolutely nothing to make it stand out. Not worth the walk from the Station really.

Avoid.
