The Peacock, St Albans

It's just had a major makeover, and is now completely different to the old pub - it's very stylish, and has a nice, comfortable feel to it. Not somewhere that's going to win any CAMRA awards - go to the nearby Mermaid or Blacksmith's Arms for a good selection of real ales - but definitely a good place to meet up with people. It does food but I didn't try any of it.

Beerintheevening people: it no longer has a pool table. Can't remember seeing a TV but I'll leave that for somebody else to confirm. And they still have outside seating.

The Sekforde Arms, Clerkenwell

A recent report in the Islington Tribune says that it's been bought by a local barrister who is building a residential property at the back of the pub, and will then refurbish the toilets, kitchen and basement before opening the Sekforde up again.

The Sekforde Arms, Clerkenwell

Sad to report that the Sekforde will be closing down in 6 weeks, and will then re-open as a French restaurant. Such a shame, it's a lovely old place, real fire, good atmosphere. Grade II listed I think (not completely sure).
