The Cabbage Patch, Twickenham

I was thee on Saturday afternoon for the England/Italy match. Someone puked up all over the table behind us. And after 2 hours it STILL hadn't been cleaned up despite asking at the bar 3 times.

Disugusting.

The Havelock Tavern, Kensington

In October the owners got a new manager in. He contacted me shortly afterwards and asked me to reconsider and come back and give them another try. I'm plesed I did. Most of the front of house staff have changed and there's a great upbeat feeling about the place. Its always good to see lots of smiles and laughing. The food's great as well. Onto the beer - Ubu lovely and the other guest ales very good. Oh, one other thing they've changed is the sychophantic reviews of the the oub in the gents. They've replaced them with some great quotes from Churchill.
The only problem now is that it will become even more popular and even harder to get a table!

The Pear Tree, Hammersmith

Went there with a group of friends for dinner on Saturday. Love the interior, very cosy. Good menu but my mains (grey mullet) was very bland - plain boiled potatoes (no butter/herbs) and 2 kale leaves which by its nature can be very tough and sadly they were! Other diners had steak or rack of lamb and feedback from them was excellent. They'd run out of sticky toffee pudding but forgotten to take it of the blackboard but the crumble which we all plumped for instead was delicious. Barman was excellent encouraging us to tase the wines on offer - sadly we had to switch wines twice because they kept on running out of the ones we chose. Better stock control needed.
We had a great evening and would recommend the Pear Tree - I just wish it was my local!
