The New Inn, Buckby Wharf

A rather nice pub by the canal at Buckby Wharf dating back to the 17th Century. As well as enjoying a bench by the canal with a very nice view, the New Inn provides meals throughout the day and large screen Sky Sports - but this is only in one section of the pub, so you can ignore it quite easily if it isn't your thing. Unusually they have a large cage with a huge parrot in it! Just within walking distance of Long Buckby station (around 30 minutes with a walk along the canal), it makes for a nice day out and caters for families too.

The Admiral Rodney, Long Buckby

One of 3 pubs serving the village of Long Buckby this is easily the smallest. As well as providing real ales, you can play pool or the olde game of Table Skittles. This pub mainly attracts the older folk of the village and farmers from the surrounding villages and hamlets. It also has a nice beer garden and a warm, country pub atmosphere. But, the stereo can be a bit loud and their wine isn't the best.
