The Three Crutches, Strood

Heard about this restaurant from a few of our close friends and they said they had enjoyed eating here every time they had been so thought i'd try it out and take the wife and kids out and see what it was like.
I booked a table for about 7:30pm on a saturday, on arrival i was greeted by a waitress who was very friendly and accomodating asking if my youngest girl would like some crayons and a colouring in book.
I myself a chef for the last 11 years can be very critical when we go out and eat so i was wary about the idea of the 2 meals for ten pounds thinking that maybe the food would represent the price, and i can happily say that i was pleasantly supprised by the quality of food i recieved. The children had nuggets and chips so not much to comment on there only that it was hot and they had enough ketchup to keep them happy. I myself had the Chicken carbonara, as easy as the dish is to make it is just as easy as to get completely wrong but the carbonara i had was light and filling with an amazing sauce that totally complemented the dish as a whole ( i'll be asking the chef for his secret) my wife had minted lamb chops which i also tasted, the lamb was a tender medium rare the way a lamb chop should be as to enjoy the flavour. the mash was fluffy and complemented with a mint jus' gravy.
All in all a very nice meal and completely suprised by the quality of food and the great service that i got.
If i had to rate this place it would get a 9/10.
