The Winchester Gate, Salisbury

I think the landlord may have taken heed of a couple of previous posts regarding the space taken up by the sofas and random stools as they have gone, to be replaced by normal tables and chairs. The bar now has a lot more space to allow people to get through to the toilets, particularly when the pub is busy.
Beers on when I was in the other day were Hop Back Crop Circle, Downton German Pale Ale and Wessex Walnut Best, a good choice and all in excellent nick.

The Village, Salisbury

For the first time ever, I had a couple of less than perfect pints. They were still better than virtually every where else in Salisbury but well below the usual high standards for this place. Also, the prices are getting a wee bit on the high side, particularly compared with Deacons just down the road.

Safari Garden, Salisbury

The pub is now called the Safari Garden. I must admit that I haven't been in in its new guise, but I was talking to someone in Deacons across the road who said that the restaurant side of the place serves up African food like giraffe, gazelle, ostrich, etc. I might be tempted to check it out.
