The Anglers, Teddington

Another terrible evening down this pub has led me to sign up and make a comment. I totally agree with most of the average and bad comments I've read about this pub and agree with the comments made by felloweship. The service is terrible, so much so that when we my mates and I see new bar staff we're amazed that their service/attitude matches their colleagues, ho-hum. The food is terrible, it tastes like it's all cooked in one fryer and funnily enough it is! (As confirmed by previous management). If you want good food go next door to The Tide End Cottage, cheaper as well. To pick on a traditional English obsession the toilets are near festival standard. In addition I believe the age group is supposed to be 21+ but this is rarely the case in the evening so avoid like the plague after 9pm. I've drunk is this pub for 12+ years and I've got used to it being bad, my friends and I only return because......

On a plus side, once you've been served, the beer is excellent and caters for all tastes. In the summer the garden is very nice, particularly as it backs onto the Thames, but it does suffer from excess children. In all a good location suthering from bad management all round.

Teddington offers a vast selection of pubs for such a small area and this one sits near the bottom of the pile. Search out The Old Goat for good food, beer and a similiar style. Or for a proper pub go see Dermot at The Adelaide on Park Road.
