The Shoulder of Mutton, Playhatch

I have to say I am very surprised at the negative comments about the standard of food at this pub. I recently took a group of 31 retired electricity engineers for a weekday lunch in this establishment.

They were impressed with the variety of food on offer - light bites, burger and sandwiches and main meals. Many of these options were very reasonably priced. I personally opted for the signature mutton dish which while being the most expensive item on the menu was well worth the money. The mutton was as tender and tasty as could be and the accompanying vegetables excellent.

We were accommodated in the pub's extension which had been set out for our booking and was ideal. Service was efficient and cheery. We all had a great time.

We will have no hesitation in returning when our events for next year are under discussion.
