The Sir John Oldcastle, Farringdon

I couldn't believe how crowded this was at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon! Good reason though - cheaper beer and a wide selection. I didn't stay long enough for the usual problem of a Wetherspoons - the beer I like runs out. A good pub to drop in for a couple of drinks and a meal.

Great pub - high ceilings, good atmosphere. Good beer too.

The Old Red Lion, Islington

Friendly barman offered to close windows to reduce noise from building site opposite. Nice drop of Harveys Sussex Best.

Spacious pub - a good resource in the area.
