The Wig and Pen, Truro

Food is good for the money, very relaxed pub and the landlord and (most of) his staff are trying hard to bring it up. Still a bit clicky with regulars who have "their seat" but landlord is weeding out some of the antisocial behaviour and it's moving in the right direction. Nice terrace and a very decent pint.

Punchbowl & Ladle, Feock

Good place for a meal, family friendly, dark and old-fashioned, but quality of food is good. Personally I like the maitre d' thing. Only downside is that they use a lot of young temporary staff who try hard but go off to uni before they settle in, then they have to get a new lot. Toilets aren't great but they have improved.

The Globe, Truro

Really gone downhill. Lets people drink here who've been barred everywhere else and it shows. Really sad - used to be a great buzz, brewery took out Sky sports, got rid of the proper chef and now it's hard going for the landlord who is a nice guy and deserves better.
