Sutton Oak, St Helens

Overrated in my opinion. Pub was empty when I went and there wasn't even any staff behind the bar. I left, beerless. Not as many draughts as I thought they'd have either. I believe you can't use the beer garden there either.

Beechams Bar and Brewery, St Helens

Frequented by crazy old-timers and with permanent rotating real ales ( 4 or 5 always), low prices and a clean, orderly environment with excellent service. This pub is the unsung hero of the real ale scene in St.Helens. But that's okay by me, the less people know about this oasis the better. The only downside is the toilet is a bit crap.
