O'Neills, Richmond

I think this pub has really improved over the last year. like everybody in Richmond who wants to drink after 11, I end up here on many Friday and Saturday nights. They seem to have more staff now, so you can get served and the bands are really good. There is rarely any trouble, and if there is, the door staff seem to sort it out pretty quick. Not brilliant of course, but by far the best in Richmond.

The Alma Tavern, Wandsworth Town

Very nice pub, beer very good and service efficient but not terribly friendly. Can't feel quite comfortable here. Lots of public school types braying away. Maybe it's just a bit too clean for me or something. Menu looks good.

The Ship Inn, Wandsworth

Now being run by Irishman Oisin Rogers, the guy who had The St Margarets Tavern, Twickenham. Quality landlord (he bought me a pint). He tells me it will be redecorated in October without much change to the place and they are keeping all the wierd furniture. Head chef Paul is staying on with his own menu and staff. All looking rosy for the future of The Ship.
