The George and Vulture, Hoxton

Recommended by CAMRA for their excellent beer, the food lives up to it reputation as well. I found this an excellent pub in the self-consciously cool area of Shoreditch/Hoxton. A stallwart to how pubs should be now - still maintaining their traditional roots but with a modern edge. Wood panelling and Chesterfield sofa's complimented by a huge cast iron streetlamp. Live music of the guitar and DJ variety, catering for the eclectic mix of young and old. I met George - an 85 yr old who's been drinking there since he was 15!!!! and your usual young professionals. Apparently Jarvis Cocker lives next door and Kate Moss has been seen there.

Overall - thoroughly recommended whoever you are.
