The Church Inn, Hockley

I pop into this friendly pub whenever I'm in the area. The beer is well kept and better value than other pubs in the area. The staff are welcoming and cheerful and if you're hungry they do hearty meals.

It's quiet sometimes because it mainly a working area, but I've always found it a good place to visit.

The Church Inn, Hockley

I heard the pub was reopening and went down there last night. I don't know anything about the past problems at this pub, but I know Vicky keeps a good pint.

I found the place to be a good traditional local with a friendly atmosphere and good beer. Yes there's still a lot of work to do, because whoever had it last ran it into the ground, but it's got all the signs of being a great success.

Let's hope it soon gets back to its former glory.
