The Tickled Trout, West Farleigh

I was invited to attend a lunch time business meeting at the Tickled Trout. I joked I only knew of one Tickled Trout and that was in Lancashire near Preston, but I was told this one near Maidstone was worth a visit. It had a good car park.
I arrived early (no delays on the motorways 25 and 20) and was greeted most courteously by a lady at the bar who most politely worked out the name of whom the tables were booked in (I didn't know). The manager/proprietor Alan was most welcoming and laughed when I commented about the other Tickled Tourt and it transpired he know of it and been there. When my colleagues arrived we were seated at tables in the alcove so that we could meet and discuss and not intrude into the privacy of others enjoying lunch. There were five of us lunching and we all enjoyed the main course (and the desserts): mine was fish and chips with peas- it was served on a hot plate and was smooth and fine.
Pudding of syrup sponge was so good I was reminded of my mother's cooking - very homely.
A brilliant pub - no loud or mind-bending music. The serving staff attentive, interested, and caring. The gent's toilets clean, tidy and without any pong - a credit to the cleaning staff.
When I arrived home I told my wife we would be returning for lunch or dinner.
By the way the total bill five lunches and drinks was far less than one course at the Goring hotel in London.
I know of nothing to discredit this pub. It offered Good Value, Good Service, and Cleanliness. I rate it Highly.
