The Anchor, Wisley

Went in the other day for a drink for the first time since the refurbishment. I was impressed with the quick service, despite it being a sunny evening and getting quite busy. the bar staff were polite and the beer was just right. I haven't tried the food yet, but intend to revisit soon, as the menu looked good. Sitting in the garden by the canal on a sunny evening after cycling on the towpath was bliss!

Bridge Barn, Woking

Although this pub is my local geographically, I hardly ever use it because of the lack of bar staff and the long wait for drinks at the bar that this causes. The last two times I tried, the queue was so long I left and went to another pub instead. As I hadn't been in for six months or so, I gave it another try this week and all I can say is nothing has improved. It's a shame because it is an otherwise nice pub in a good location. As it is a beefeater I think they prefer people only to use the restaurant, as the drinks ordered from the restaurant seem to take priority over those served at the bar to non-diners.
