The George, Shalford

I recently hired the pub out for private function (My uncle's 50th Birthday party). The Food laid on was fantastic, with an atmosphere to fit. The band that the landlord sourced were fantastic (It is also true that Matt Cardle was due to play at another function held at The George but Xfactor fame beckoned! I suspect the landlord has an uncanny knack for spotting up and coming talent!)

Also a great pub for atmosphere during major sporting events. I imagine the RWC 2011 will be special because it is in summer and last year for the footy world cup they moved a giant widescreen plasma outside, had a bbq which was a bargain, �2.00 Sausage rolls and free roasties on tap! This is a pub run in a traditional way where the customer comes first with modern attitudes to what a modern punter requires; large portions, great beer and good value entertainment (all of which are locally sourced!)
