The Railway Medina, Newport

The new owners, Duncan and Kate Scott, have done a great job in turning this pub round in a comparitively short time. Up until two months ago, under the previous regime, you would have thought twice before setting foot in the place. The unsavoury characters who you would cross the road to avoid if you saw them in the street are gone and the displaced locals are making a welcome return. Now the atmosphere is friendly, a excellent range of guest real ales on offer and a new, extensive food menu to satisfy all appetites. All the food is home-made by Duncan and Kate and is not only superb (even Gordon Ramsay would be hard pushed to find fault!) but reasonably priced as well. In short, The Railway Medina Tavern is back to what it should be......a proper English Pub.
