I only drink in pubs that sell decent beer so take that as read. I intend to concentrate my comments on that important but rather neglected aspect of any pub, the Gentlemen's toilet.

The Ropemakers, Bridport

Well kept Palmers beers, good simple food and a pleasant interior with interesting bits and bobs to look at.
A very nice, clean gents with good natural light from above and splendid old fashioned fittings in the seated area. The air hand drier actually works!
Possibly in response to Longitude's post, the bar stools are now comfortably upholstered and much easier on the posterior quarters.

The George Hotel, Bridport

Old fashioned and amiably scruffy town centre local with good lunchtime food and most of Palmers range on tap.
Gents upstairs and reasonably appointed apart from the fact that the lights are on a timer and there is no movement detector in the throne room. Make sure you make a mental note of where the door latch and paper are stowed when you go in. The disabled loo downstairs is a bit better - if the lights go out in there, just lob a spare loo roll in the direction of the door and they come back on.

Bridport and West Dorset Club, Bridport

Butcombe and Branscombe ales on last night, both very papatable and served by friendly staff.
Classic, substantial porcelain facilities in the gents, which is right at the far end of the snooker room, so be careful not to upset the players by singing too loudly or lurching into the tables.
