The Castle Of Comfort, East Harptree

Met up with sister-in-law and family for sunday lunch. 8 of us in total. Service wasn't the quickest but fortunately we weren't in any hurry. Meals were good although if I'm being picky the roast potatoes were over cooked (possibly cos we met at 2). Food is ordered at the bar. Nice pub, nice fire going, nice atmosphere. Have added it to our list of meeting places.

The Royal Oak, Corsley

Cant believe there aren't more reviews about this pub. Arranged to meet up with friends who hadn't been before so was a little worried but I needn't have been. Got a warm welcome from the staff as well as from the lovely log fire blazing away. There were 7 of us and we all agreed that the meal was excellent. The staff couldn't have been more helpful - they were particularly helpful with one guest who has special dietary needs. There was quite a varied menu with plenty of specials on the board. Plenty of beers, Swordfish being the favourite. Have been out for quite a few meals lately but this was the best by far. Highly recommended.

The Poachers Pocket, Chelynch

One of my fave places: excellent choice, the food is good and the staff friendly. Took my boss there recently knowing I was on to a winner with this pub. Booking is recommended especially on a Sunday.
