The Queen Dowager, Teddington

This is not a good pub, for several reasons. Firstly, the landlord no longer serves good English pub food, he has branched out and now does takeaway sushi...

Prices of drinks vary (go up) during the night, and I know for a fact that the wine is bought for about �3 a bottle at the Tesco next door, and sold at roughly �4.50 a glass at the Dowager.

Most of the people in the pub are lovely and are mainly regulars. However, there are some who come to the pub at the end of the night having been kicked out of the high street ones and are already drunk and looking to cause trouble. They are allowed in by Mark, which very often causes the regulars to leave as their quiet evening has been disrupted.

The other night a group of self-proclaimed 'pikeys' ended up beating up a man at the bar while the landlord hid in the back, and it was only due to a customers dog that they left. Mark then refused to call the police, and threw out all the customers, locking himself in. This group were on pubwatch but had still benn allowed in!

I would strongly recommend you don't go to the Dowager as there is nothing you would want from a good English pub - decent food, safe environment, traditional decor and an honest landlord!
