The Maid of Muswell, Muswell Hill

If its got a soul, I can't find it . . . but compared to every other Muswell Hill pub/bar it's not too awfully bad I suppose. The tanning salon and the betting shop across the road probably have a better atmosphere though

The Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park

It's a bit schizophrenic. The bits where you can see a bar are great but I'm not a fan of the barn out the back with the uncomfortable seats and nu-metal jukebox. Great chilled beer though, quite good thai, proper pub atmosphere and a good mix of locals and after-work crowd. Pool table also, though hard to get a game when busy. Very smokey, which is great, as I've given up cigs and need to get my fix from somewhere.
