The Racehorse Inn, Taunton

Spent many years living (and drinking) in Taunton and would agree that this is the only real pub in the town to get a real pint of ale. One of the few remaining traditional pubs in the town that has avoided being refurbished with television screens, halogen lighting and cheap gassy beer. Hope it never changes.

The White Horse Inn, Stogumber

Have only been here once but found it to be a lovely little village pub. Good ales and a relaxed atmosphere, will be going back soon to try the food as some of the plates coming out looked good value. As previously said parking is a bit difficult.

The Naval and Military, Taunton

What a hole, obviously aren't making enough profit to buy a tin of paint. Went in there once as part of a pub crawl as was glad to be in the company of some Scottish steel fixers. Have driven past this place at lunchtime before and seen fighting outside. When you're inside you see why - the place is full of alkies who wait outside every morning for it to open. Carpet is so full of grime that you have to keep moving to prevent getting stuck to it. Bring the bulldozers in, until then cross the road to walk past.
