The Running Horse, Leatherhead

Always a sound real retreat - best pub in Leatherhead by miles with old Ron Huddlestone being such a delightful guy.
Love the 'Elynour Rummynge' connection - some say 'The Running Horse' is a corruption of 'Rummynge House' - immortalised in a C16th old English poem by John Skelton.
So a proper pub - steeped in history - run by proper people with friendly locals - a nice patio area to one side & sunny garden to the rear.
Oh the beers! An array (5/6) of Shepherd Neame ales - all tasting perfect!

The Abinger Arms, Abinger Hammer

Super real pub & friendly.
Was there on 17th July - lovely pint of Exmoor Ale (guest) & Adnams always available on handpump. Chatted with Lionel, the Landlord who was a real good bloke.
Hadn't ever been inside before so cannot comment on it's previous condition - but evident what an effort he'd put in - both inside & out.
Don't drive by or be put off by the 'main road' location - the Car Park is adjacent & you can see the Abinger Hammer clock from the pub's front door.
Delightful.
