FURIOUS !!!
Further to comments seen on this sight, may I point out to Mr Evas ? (or should it be Evans ? )that The Highwood has recently been voted Community Pub of the year( see evening mail)due to a diligent manager who has a cheery good word for everybody and in my opinion is one of the hardest working managers it has been my fortune to encounter. His tireless efforts have resulted in thousands of pounds being raised for various charities and will continue to do so.
Not only are the beer prices at the Highwood the most reasonable in the area, the quality of the beer is second to none again down to good cellar management.
I would suggest that if Mr Evas? would rather spend �2.50 plus per pint and drink in plastic palaces in the locality he is welcome to do so.As far as his comments regarding "unsavoury types" may I also point out that the majority of The Highwoods Regulars take extreme exception to his blinkered and misguided comments and had we all realised that we were in the presence of royalty I am sure that we would have moderated our bawdiness and working class behaviour.
The Highwood IS, and will remain the only real Pub in Solihull ie, NO FOOD, NO CHILDREN, and a place where the local community can enjoy a good night out..
