The Fleet Inn, Twyning

Me and my husband from Austrailia were on a twelve month visit to Britain, sailing various rivers. We came across the Fleet Inn when voyaging along the River Avon. It seemed like a glorious country retreat and that continued when we entered and were welcomed by a lovely log fire and ancient beamed ceilings. We had never seen anything like it, coming from Down Under!.

But however, our first impressions were soon abolished. We were welcomed by an unfriendly, unprofessional member of staff and we were then given the wrong meals and the wine we ordered did not arrive for 35 minutes! The member also looked like he was "sucking a lemon" which didn't leave a good impression. However, on the other hand, there were two delightful members of staff by the names of Matt and Sianie, if I remember so. These two were helpful and extremely friendly and were even still studying secondary school and put the so called "professional, full time" staff to shame! We are planning to visit again in a few years time and it is unlikely that we will be visiting the Fleet Inn again.
