The Ram, Kingston Upon Thames

Fairly regular visitor mostly for the delights of sitting in the garden in the sun. Recently refurbished but i find myself fairly disappointed with the outcome seemingly just a clone of the druids head... went in this week and was served a pretty gross pint of adnams regatta but unfortunately could not find anything to replace it with both other guests in fairly similar bad condition and with 2 pumps of GK IPA and not alot else we asked for our money back and left. Another recent visit had me trying the food very disappointing portion sizes. ordered selection of sides and a sharing plate, found 3 potato wedges not entirely substantial for the price we paid. With the current road works next to the garden i can only suggest escaping to the mill with few real ale venues worth going to in the immediate area.

Royal Forresters Hotel, Ascot

This pub COULD be great but ultimately ruined by co-orperate ownership, with beefeater logos plastered over the walls and tacky premier inn extensions. To say that though all credit to the bar manager who definately knows his stuff. Typical greene king ales OSH, Morlands Original and abbotts all well kept. really lovely building was told its 200 years old but that could be wrong. Best kept pint in ascot if you can get past its faults.

Royal Hunt, Ascot

Greene king pub in north ascot which i thought had alot of charm. GK IPA and Morlands original nothing spectacular but drinkable, staff and locals alike were friendly. interesting layout with darts boards and plasma TV, large garden.
Visited again on xmas eve to be greeted by a free buffet put on by the pub which was great. Nothing wrong with this pub nothing special but nor is the town its situated in which makes this lack of a better option.
