Great place. Fantastic beer, friendly atmosphere and staff. Best pub for miles around.

The Taverners, Godshill

I went to this pub the other week, on my first trip to the Isle of Wight, so I�m obviously not a local expert. Apparently it's under new management, and its name has recently changed from the Cask and Taverners. We drank some local beer: Yates' Undercliff, which was great. I think they had one or two other real ale options on. However, what set it apart from the other pubs I visited on the Isle of Wight, was the food, which was really top quality. Other pubs had good beer, and passable food, but this was fantastic, mains and puddings. We didn't try the other big pub in Godshill, The Griffin, which was very busy, but it's hard to imagine the food could be any better.
