The Shakespeare's Head, Brighton

Well kept beer, but a safe predictable line up and overpriced. Dark Star Hophead is a least 50p a pint more expensive than it is down the road at the Evening Star. That said, the service is excellent (very friendly and attentive) and the sausage and mash is very good.

The Snowdrop, Lewes

Excellent little pub. A reasonable way from the town centre, but well worth the effort. Food is a big draw, and so it should be, it's excellent. The beers very good too. Four or five to choose from, mostly independents including a couple of Dark Stars.

It does get a bit overrun with hippies on a Sunday afternoon, and as stated elsewhere service can be a bit slow, but overall a very good pub indeed.

The John Harvey Tavern, Lewes

Excellent pub. Exceptional service, very well kept beer, and nice food too. One of the friendlest pubs in Lewes, and trust me there are a few that aren't. If you thought you didn't like Harvey's beers then give this place a go. You'll be surprised how nice it can be.
