The Antelope, High Wycombe

The Antelope is a great pub with the best atmosphere in Wycombe, it's open until 2am on Firday's and Saturday's so doesn't start filling up until about 10-11pm those nights. Most people pop into the nearby Weatherspoons for a few cheap swift ones before moving on to the Antelope.

The bouncers are very friendly, welcoming and fair. If you break the rules you are asked to leave, I've never seen them have to resort to violence. There is no real dress code in place, no tracksuit bottoms and no hats in the evenings seems to be the only regulations.

There is a small dancefloor but if you are away from it you can still hear the music but not loudly so you can just talk at normal volume.

The crowd that turn up are the main reason to go, just a chilled out mix of friendly people. I don't think I've ever been to the Antelope and not struck up conversation with a stranger and as most people return to the Antelope over time you make new friends there.

Basically it's the only reason to go out in Wycombe.
