The Chequers Inn, Binham

Thankfully, this small village in North Norfolk still has a pub that oozes character, sells a variety of good beers and does a mean line in tasty food. It's in the village, close to the magnificent ruins of Binham Abbey. Tourists often stumble across it when driving around - but in the winter it's more about local drinking.

The Crown, Colkirk

In a county where, sadly, pubs are disappearing, this is a lively and comfortable hostelry. Some good beers to choose from and excellent food; well worth a visit for an evening meal.
