This is the best Pub in Leicester. Good Beer, decent staff and a dour landlord!! What more could you want. Always a mild/stout/porter on and an ever changing variety of draft beer also makes it essential that you visit on a regular basis. Since moving a couple of years ago the client base has grown so local office staff, residents, students and CAMRA members are seen side by side now. Also has a good range of lager and bottle beers. Food is served at lunch time and “dinna” in the evening. It’s all decent food and not the average pub stodge you normally find in a city centre pub.
It’s a one off in Leicester as its trying to do something different by serving decent beer in a nice environment, without having rip-off prices. Again it’s the local CAMRA pub of the year! Well done to all concerned.

The Shakespeare's Head, Leicester
Cheapest & Best Mild in Leicester, OK sometimes it’s served a little cold for my liking so I order two and let the second warm up on the bar. Great jukebox as well. Whenever I am in Leicester this is always one of the two pubs I go to. Some of the regulars are an eclectic mix but it just adds to the charm of the place. It’s like stepping back into the 80’s with the prices, so much so that I expect to see DCI Gene Hunt on the next table. Go and set the best value pint of beer in the Minlands!
